1. Scope and Purpose
Gambling involves inherent risk. No tool, program, or policy removes this risk entirely. This document describes the responsible gaming framework maintained by the platform, the tools available to users, the obligations that apply to both parties, and the procedures for accessing support or restricting play.
This policy applies to all registered account holders accessing the service from Canada. Where provincial requirements differ, the stricter standard applies.
2. General Principles
The platform operates under a responsible gaming framework intended to reduce gambling-related harm. Users are provided with information and tools that support informed decisions about gambling activity. Gambling is not presented as a guaranteed source of income or as a risk-free activity.
The responsible gaming program includes:
- Player-controlled limits on deposits, wagers, and session duration
- Voluntary self-exclusion with defined terms
- Breaks in play
- Access to educational information about gambling risk
- Referrals to external support services
3. Player Eligibility and Account Requirements
To hold an account with Wasaga Beach, a player must meet the minimum age requirement applicable in the province or territory of residence. In most Canadian provinces, the minimum age is 19 years. In Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec, the minimum age is 18.
The company may request age verification documents at any time. Accounts determined to belong to underage individuals will be suspended, and any funds held in such accounts will be handled in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
4. Player-Controlled Limits
Registered players may set the limits described in this section through account settings. Once a limit is applied, it takes effect immediately or within the timeframe specified below.
4.1 Deposit Limits
Players may set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits. A request to lower a deposit limit takes effect immediately. A request to raise a deposit limit is subject to a cooling-off period of at least seven days before the increase becomes active.
4.2 Wager and Loss Limits
Players may set maximum wager amounts or loss limits per session, day, week, or month. Reductions take effect immediately. Increases are subject to a cooling-off period and do not take effect before the expiry of that period.
4.3 Session Time Limits
Players may set a maximum session duration. Once the limit is reached, the player will be logged out automatically. A session reminder notification will be issued before the limit expires.
5. Breaks in Play
A break in play is a temporary suspension of gambling activity requested by the player. The following break durations are available:
Break Duration - Effect
1 day - Account login and wagering suspended for 24 hours
1 week - Account login and wagering suspended for 7 days
1 month - Account login and wagering suspended for 30 days
2 months - Account login and wagering suspended for 60 days
3 months - Account login and wagering suspended for 90 days
Once a break in play begins, no wagers may be placed during the break period. The break cannot be cancelled or shortened after it has been initiated. Players may contact the support team to confirm the status of an active break.
6. Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion is a formal request by a player to be excluded from gambling activity for a defined period. It is a more permanent measure than a break in play and creates obligations for both the player and the company.
6.1 Available Exclusion Terms
Players may request self-exclusion for the following periods:
- 6 months
- 1 year
- 5 years
6.2 Effect of Self-Exclusion
Upon confirmation of a self-exclusion request, the following actions are taken:
- The player’s account is logged out
- Login access is suspended for the duration of the exclusion
- No further wagers may be placed
- Promotional communications are suspended
If a player has placed a wager on an event or series that has not yet started at the time self-exclusion begins, that wager will be refunded. If the relevant event or series has already started when the exclusion is confirmed, the wager will not be refunded.
6.3 Player Obligations During Self-Exclusion
A self-excluded player must not attempt to open a new account or access the service through any means during the exclusion period. The company will take reasonable steps to identify and close any accounts opened in violation of an active self-exclusion.
6.4 Returning to Play
At the end of a self-exclusion period, an account does not reactivate automatically. The player must submit a written request to reinstate access. The company may apply a mandatory waiting period before reinstatement is confirmed.
7. Reality Checks
Players may enable periodic reality check notifications. These notifications appear at set intervals during a session and display the duration of the current session and the net result of play during that session. At each notification point, the player may choose to continue or end the session.
8. Recognizing Gambling Harm
Educational information is provided to assist players in identifying signs that gambling may be causing harm. These signs may include:
- Spending more time or money on gambling than intended
- Gambling to recover previous losses
- Neglecting personal, professional, or financial responsibilities due to gambling
- Feeling unable to stop or reduce gambling activity
- Borrowing money to fund gambling
This information is provided for awareness purposes only and does not constitute medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.
9. Support Resources
Players who believe their gambling is causing harm are encouraged to contact independent support services. In Canada, provincial problem gambling helplines are available at no cost. Contact information for these services is available through the Responsible Gambling Council at responsiblegambling.org.
Wasaga Beach does not operate or endorse any specific treatment provider. Referral information is provided as a service to players. No compensation is received for referrals.
10. Third-Party Tools
Players may use third-party software to restrict access to gambling websites. The platform does not provide or configure such software and does not control its availability or performance, but its use is not restricted. Players are responsible for installing, configuring, and managing any third-party filtering tools they choose to use.
11. Contact and Policy Updates
Questions or requests related to this responsible gaming policy, including requests to set limits, initiate a break in play, or begin self-exclusion, may be submitted through the designated support channel. Requests related to self-exclusion or account suspension are processed as a priority.
This policy is reviewed periodically. The version published on this page reflects current practices. Players are encouraged to review this document when accessing the service.
